Pom Pom.

I commemorated New York City’s first snowfall of 2012 with the resurrection of my infamous pom pom hat that I’ve had since my early college years. In addition to being incredibly warm, the hat is well-known for the absurdly large pom pom prominently affixed on top. The cream hat was the perfect complement to my sherbet/ice cream colored ensemble courtesy of Chanel and Theory.

ABOUT: Chanel chiffon tank and jacket, Theory skirt, vintage Coach purse, Zara suede wedges, J.Crew necklace, David Yurman bracelet (gifted from M.R.) and ring and A&F pom pom hat / Photographs by M.R.

This is me and my best friend, Lizzabee Yarbrough, singing Hey Jude! We did this awhile ago, but it was fun looking back at all the videos we made! Elizabeth now plays the mandolin so we will be making more videos very soon, I’m sure!

Happy Birthday Martin Luther King Jr.
Pictured: Among his landmark early addresses, King’s speech that day, known as “Give Us the Ballot,” urged President Eisenhower and members of Congress to protect the most basic rights of democracy for all American citizens:

“We come humbly to say to the men in the forefront of our government that the civil rights issue is not an ephemeral, evanescent domestic issue that can be kicked about by reactionary guardians of the status quo,” King said in his powerful, rich preacher’s voice. “It is rather an eternal moral issue which may well determine the destiny of our nation…. The hour is late. The clock of destiny is ticking out. We must act now, before it is too late.”

Born on January 15, 1929, Martin Luther King, Jr. was a key leader of the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s in the United States. President Lyndon B. Johnson issued this proclamation for a national day of mourning after King was assasinated on April 4, 1968.  This year we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Federal Holiday on January 16th.

I’m reading about the European’s discovery of Africa in the fifteenth century…Very interesting!

Social stratification was based more on class status than it was race.

Also I would like to say that ELTON JOHN is coming to Georgia in March. I REPEAT.

G. Love and the Special Sauce at Music Farm FOUR DAYS AWAY. Third Eye Blind is also coming to Music Farm in February. Oh and Nick Carter as well.

In other news Coldplay and RHCP. And Black Keys/Arctic Monkeys. I need tickets to all of these.

R.E.M. Dey make me happy.
